Hey friends! I am so beyond excited to be sharing Skillful Start’s branding photoshoot which took place at the beautiful Park Hill Studios with Hematite Images Photography in Cambridge, Ontario. Carling, a Child and Youth Care Practitioner with over 13 years of experience in the mental health field, has a dedicated passion for mental health crisis prevention in youth.

As a mom to two and a CYACP, Carling made it her mission to spread awareness and provide other parents with the resources and education to nurture children’s mental health. Hence, the start of her passion project and small business; Skillful Start.

Skillful Start sells preassembled kits with everything your child needs for back to school or at home to help with important concepts such as communication, advocacy and resiliency. Products within these kits include gratitude journals providing children with the opportunity to practice and grow by implementing gratitude into their daily routines. Other products include affirmation cards, worry stones and emotions and coping posters aiding your children in building positive self image, engage in positive self talk and practice recognizing and regulating emotions.

Carling was in the process of redoing her website with help from Courtney at Social Sprout Co. I have crossed paths with Courtney many times in the past, first when I stumbled across her instagram page when eyelash extensions were all the craze. From there Courtney went on to partner up with her best friend to create, own and operate Fizz Soakery. A well loved bath and wellness store located in Cambridge, Ontario. Courtney was responsible for handling Fizz Soakery’s social media platforms, generating a large and engaged audience as well as website management on top of all the craziness that comes with running a business.

With all the craziness that came from running Fizz Soakery, Courtney found inspiration for the creation of another small business: Social Sprout Co. Courtney has founded and managed many successful small businesses and knows EXACTLY what being a business owner means. Courtney is here to share her library of expertise with other small business owners in Ontario. I would highly recommend Courtney from Social Sprout Co and if you ever find yourself on a roadtrip to Cambridge, Ontario, I recommend heading into Fizz Soakery and treating yourself and your loved ones to some much needed relaxation. Courtney is nothing shy of amazing, and continues to inspire me daily. You will not regret it!
